Ferguson Corporation is proud to announce that we have been awarded the building envelope contract for one of the most significant cultural projects in Calgary’s history: The Arts Commons Transformation (ACT).
This project represents a new chapter for our city’s arts district, and we are honored to play a critical role in bringing its architectural vision to light.
The Vision
The new Art Commons is designed to be a gathering place that is open, transparent, and connected to the community. The design features a stunning, undulating form and a high-performance envelope that must balance acoustic isolation for the performance spaces with breathtaking transparency for the public areas.
Realizing a design of this complexity requires surgical precision and integrated engineering – capabilities that Ferguson has refined over 50 years.
The Team
We are thrilled to be collaborating with a world-class team to execute this vision:
From Vision to Light
“The new Arts Commons is not just a building; it is a vessel for culture,” said Alex Seegerer, President of Ferguson Corporation. “Our role is to ensure that the skin of this building performs as beautifully as the art inside it. We look forward to working with EllisDon and the design team to engineer an envelope that will stand the test of time.”
Work on the building envelope is scheduled to begin in 2026, contributing to a vibrant new future for downtown Calgary.
