As we round out 2025, Ferguson Corporation is taking a moment to look up – literally and figuratively.
This past year marked our 50th anniversary – a milestone that represents five decades of innovation, craftsmanship, and the “can-do” engineering spirit that has defined our company since 1975.
To celebrate, we recently gathered our entire team, alumni, trusted partners, friends, and family for a gala event. And there was only one place fitting enough to host it: The BMO Centre Expansion.
A Full Circle Moment
Celebrating inside the BMO Centre offered a perfect reflection of our journey. Standing beneath the 3,600 sq. ft. of skylights and surrounded by 55,000 sq. ft. of curtain wall that our team engineered and installed, we were reminded of exactly what we do best: we realize the vision.
Watch the Story: 50 Years in the Making
At the event, we premiered a special video reflection – a tribute to the grit, innovation, and artistry that got us here. From our founding in 1975 to the global icons of today, this is the story of our people and our projects.
Defining the Cityscape
Looking around Calgary, Ferguson’s DNA is woven into the fabric of the city. We are responsible for the craftsmanship of many unique building envelopes that define the Western Canadian skyline, — from icons like Bankers Hall to The Alberta Children’s Hospital, Calgary Central Library, South Health Campus, BMO Centre, the new Glenbow Museum, and the Net Zero MacKimmie Tower, to name just a few. Each project reflects our commitment to precision, innovation, and enduring beauty.
“Fifty years is more than a milestone – it’s a testament to the passion, precision, and people that define Ferguson,” said Alex Seegerer, Ferguson’s President.
New Leadership, New Look
As we step into our next half-century, Ferguson is evolving.
Internally, we initiated our transition to an Employee Ownership Model with the launch of our ESOP in February 2024 – a long-term journey that will gradually transfer ownership to our employees over time. This shift is designed to ensure the company’s future remains guided by the people who know it best: our team.
Externally, we are matching this evolution with a Brand Refresh rolling out this year, modernizing our identity to reflect the sophistication of the work we do today. With this re-fresh we value our legacy and stay true to our tagline that captures the essence of our role in the architectural process of:
“Building Your Vision.”
It speaks to our ability to take an architectural concept – a vision – and engineer it into a physical reality that shapes light, space, and community.
New Wins for the Next 50 Years
We aren’t slowing down. As we close out this anniversary year, we are thrilled to announce two major project wins that will kickstart this new era:
A Note of Gratitude
None of this happens in a vacuum. To our alumni who laid the foundation, our current team who pushes the boundaries every day, and to the partners, clients, friends, and families who support us—thank you.
Here’s to the next 50 years of Building your Vision.
The Next Chapter: Owned by Us
The highlight of the evening was looking forward to our future. Our President, Alex Seegerer, took the stage to close out the evening.
“We build beauty into buildings,” Alex told the crowd. “And we do it together – with pride, purpose, and precision. We are so proud to officially make our employees shareholders of the company, further matching our practice with our team’s values.”
The energy in the room was electric. This transition honours our history while ensuring that the future of Ferguson is shaped by the people who know it best – our team.
To everyone who celebrated with us, and to everyone who has been part of this 50-year journey – thank you.
